Selling AG items on e-Bay after Christmas?

Is it a good idea to sell AG outfits, etc. on e-Bay after Christmas? I am cleaning out my doll closet and meant to put some duplicates and things I got at the AG outlet on e-Bay before Christmas. I ran out of time before Christmas and remember that in the past, January was a pretty good time to sell on e-Bay. Maybe people are spending their gift money?

I have actually noticed a significant drop in E-Bay listings the past few weeks. I always do a Kirsten search and it went from 9 pages to 4 pages worth of things in about 2 weeks. I think waiting until January is a great idea. This way more people will have Holiday money to spend. The only downfall is that the USPS rates are going up and some people don't like to spend a lot on shipping, although that is something that they will just have to get over. Don't know if this helped at all, but I hope I did!

I have noticed the week or so after Christmas is a good time to sell AG items on Ebay. Many people get money for Christmas and buy a few things for themselves.

Yep, I've noticed some of the highest prices, especially on retired items, is the month of January. I'm guessing people are spending their gift money.

I wonder if it's because people buying on Ebay are typically buying for their own collections, not as gifts. During December, I don't spend much money on myself because I need to buy presents. In January, though, I often splurge on stuff I wanted that I didn't get for the holidays [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

That's a good point! I usually have no money left over for myself during December. My MIL always gives me cash for Christmas, so I usually shop for myself in January. It's great because everything is on sale, usually.

I had thought the same thing--people will be spending Christmas money, and/or fleshing out their new collections.

I have major ebay fever right now, and prices (for buyers) seem to be pretty good in these last days leading up to Chrismtas.

I need to list some non-AG stuff, so I'll do it when I get back after Christmas.

Thanks for your input! I noticed 2 years ago that my e-Bay sales in December brought lower prices than the ones in January. I haven't bought anything on e-Bay this Christmas which is very unusal for me. I just didn't have the time to go online and search and watch, etc. I ended up buying at Amazom.com and not trying to get the very best price. I think things will slow down a bit in January around our house and it will be fun to have some auctions going.
